Amusing Myths About Hair Loss

Science and technology have taken over the life of human beings in many senses. Although science and innovation is a major part of our life today, still there are people out there who are not willing to find the right reasons behind any phenomenon. Almost every medical aspect has lots of myths attached to it. Hair loss is no exception. People believe certain myths which may be amusing to hear. Still there are people out there who believe in these myths. Everyone has an altogether different set of beliefs and one must respect the ideology and beliefs of the other. Let’s take a look at the humorous myths of hair loss.

The major reasons of hair loss: Some people think that as a person gains more money and the bank accounts grow, the speed of hair loss grows at the same rate. People actually believe that those who lose hair have lots of money or there are chances for such people to excel in their jobs and on other fronts of their lives. This is something many people believe. The myth is believed by people from many geographical regions of the world. In reality it is very different. The hair loss has nothing to do with the amount of money you have in your bank account. It has only medical reasons. There may be some vitamin which is lacking or the intake of some mineral may not be in the proper amount. These are medical reasons but still people believe the myths like the amusing one above.

Using your head too much: Another strange myth is that people believe that those who have gone through some head injury, or those who work more and use their brain more often are more likely to get bald. This is not true. It is true that the brain is located in the skull but that has got nothing to do with the hair loss in most cases. People may think a lot but still have lots of hair on their head. It is a myth which does not have any strong scientific base. Still, there are people out there who believe in this myth.

Bald Men Are More Sexually Active: Just like the previous myths this myth also does not have any scientific back ground. Losing your hair is not connected to your sexual life. Actually in some individuals androgens are removed through castration and that helps prevent hair loss. This is a scientific reference used to prove this myth. It is a myth only; and has no scientific back ground.

There are many other myths about hair loss but most of them are not true. Hair loss may result from lack of some element in your body. Some medications may also effect and result in hair loss. Hair loss can also be due to simple genetics. The myths and old wives tales about hair loss above are obviously untrue.
