Various Types of Hair Loss

Many people around the world are experiencing hair loss, nowadays. The hair loss takes different types and those who are suffering from it must know the cause of their hair loss. Once you know the reason behind your increasing hair loss, you find it easier to know what should be done next and who you should seek help from. It is possible to have successful results but not everyone can improve their condition. Some can be helped by slowing down the process of hair loss; others can get their hair to re-grow. The options are available today. But before you do anything it is important to know the reason for your hair loss.

Male Pattern Baldness: men happened to be the most badly affected when it comes to hair loss. In male pattern baldness their hair line starts receding. It starts either from above the eyes receding to the sides of the face or from the top of the head receding to the back. In both cases the problem is caused by the conversion of testosterone in the body. The conversion of testosterone stops the growth of the hair and therefore when hair falls out it is lost forever.

Female Pattern Baldness: this condition is similar to that of men but in females the hairs become progressively thin from the midline parting. The cause of pattern baldness in women is because of the deficiency of estrogen levels. In the absence of enough estrogen in the female body, the growth of hair slows down and hairs do not grow as they should. But thankfully, female pattern baldness is a fairly rare condition.

Traction Alopecia: those who are in habit of pulling their hair back into ponytails and buns usually suffer from this type of hair loss because great force is applied when pulling the hair back which resultantly damages hair follicles. Pulling the hair back can also cause thinning of hair and again cause hair loss.

Telogen Effluvium: some people suffer hair loss because of the medical treatments they are undergoing. These medical treatments include chemotherapy, major types of surgery, childbirth, various types of poisoning and even severe cases of stress. These conditions cause disturbs the hormonal balances in the body. Deregulation of hormones stops the cycle of normal hair growth. This problem can be treated and hairs started to re-grow as soon as the condition subsides.

Alopecia Areata: it is an autoimmune type of hair loss. It travels from one part of the body to another. It is not restricted to the head only. It happens in spots from just one location to many locations. The hair can re-grow and then fall out in another location.

It cannot be guaranteed that all these conditions are treatable or they are untreatable. Still it is advised to take notice if any of the symptoms of hair loss are noticed. You may not get totally rid of the problem, but you can slow down the process of hair loss by getting proper treatment in time.
